 is an indoor play area for children - and adults!
 For the kids there
is a climbing structure, a variety of toys, art
supplies, and children's books.
Regularly scheduled activities (included in admission fee) include
craft, music, and story times.
Classes
are also offered (for an additional fee) in language, music, crafts,
and more.
For the adults,
there are magazines, a lending library (read a book
while you are at the space or take it home to read and bring back when
you are done), free WiFi, and a space that you don't have to clean up at the end
of the day.

Cost for daily play is $10 per child (can come and go) $5 for siblings;
special late day $5 rate. Memberships
start at $70 a month for one child and allow unlimited entry into
The Family Room during the month.
The area used for classes is also
available to rent for birthday parties, meetings, baptisms, baby
showers - you name the occasion.
The Family Room is located a block away from the Eastern Market metro
stop on the Blue and Orange lines. There is meter parking on 8th
Street. Zone 6 parking on streets near The Family Room.

As busy parents living on Capitol Hill, we know how hard it is to find
a place that’s inviting to both children and adults on this side of the
River. The Family Room provides a safe, child-friendly environment
that allows kids to play and parents and caregivers to be adults . . .
they will be close enough for you to monitor yet far enough for you to
get away.
